HARVEST MUSIC FEST
September 25, 2022 Adams Farm, Wilmington, VT Noon - 5:00 p.m.
The Harvest Music Fest will feature several live bands, food trucks, arts & crafts, merch, performances, and a full bar. We're currently booking bands from around New England. Stay tuned for specific details on the musicians and other performers!
All proceeds benefit the Guy Hawkins Cancer Relief Fund, a local Deerfield Valley organization that helps families affected by cancer.
Why is RaRVT supporting a cancer cause?
Cancer affects people of all races, classes, ages, and genders. However, like many problems, it affects disadvantaged people much worse. BIPOC experience higher cancer rates due to greater environmental hazards, reduced access to health care, and bias in the medical industry. In addition, POC are more likely to suffer from high medical costs and debt.
Closer to home, one of RaR's strongest supporters and founding members recently underwent cancer treatment. Thankfully, the treatment was successful, but even with excellent insurance and a spouse in the medical industry, the out-of-pocket costs have reached into six figures.
RaRVT is outraged that even a privileged person experiences unmanageable medical debt. We realize that it is much worse for those who have fewer advantages. We advocate wherever possible for universal health care or Medicare for All in the United States. Until that happens, we support community efforts to help those affected by cancer.
